Hybrid and the Pillars of Fitness & Longevity

You could say the Hybrid fitness is what general fitness should be, and the standards that everyone should aim for…but it thats the case then why do most only preach one of the pillars?

First we should dip into what the ‘Pillars of Fitness & Longevity’ really is

There are two pillars to health, fitness, and longevity. Muscular strength on one side and then on the other side we have aerobic capacity (cardiovascular). Working both muscular and aerobically is the best way to endure long term health and fitness with short term goals of building muscle or loosing weight and body fat being where we can have some fun and get to be flexible in targeting one more than the other for periods of time. But never to forget they both work hand in hand, the higher your aerobic capacity the longer you can work your muscles, the longer you can work your muscles the stronger you get, the stronger you get the longer you can carry out aerobic exercises and the cycle continues. Master this in your training and you have the anti ageing cheat code for life.

Now we have an understanding of the pillars we can truly see power of hybrid training

Lift heavy and run far just started to sound even more attractive, it is not just about the now though, it’s not just about the race, the accolades and the physiques. It’s about the forever. We all love the short term intensity and feelings of achievement of hybrid training and it’s kind of paradoxical that we often think that we are doing all this training because we can do it now, but at the same time we are unintentionally building the body capable of doing it for years and even decades….If it’s done right.

We have all seen the 65 year old who can hardly move and have just been made to believe that is what ageing does to you. (outside of sickness and injury). And then on the other hand we’ve all seen that other 65 year old running triathlons and lifting weights and been blown away thinking to ourselves, ‘wow whats their secret id love to be able to do that at half their age’.

The reality of it is, whether its intentional or not they have been utilising the pillars of fitness and longevity as their very own cheat code to life and the craziest thing is, it can be all of us. How they ended up there has never been a secret, it might seem like it but its always been there in pain sight, for all of us to see and for all of us to do. Hybrid fitness can be your path to being the fittest ‘oldie’ about, but for now….lets race!
